I often see people in support groups asking if giving yourself an injection is difficult. For me, the answer is a resounding no—it’s not hard at all because I know how much better it makes me feel! I also try to make the process as enjoyable as possible, reminding myself that it’s a powerful step in improving my overall health, especially with AS.
I thought it might be helpful for anyone feeling unsure or scared about giving themselves an injection to see a real AS patient doing it. Everyone’s medical journey is unique, but in sharing mine, I hope it reaches even one person who needs to hear and see that they can do it, too.
I’m not a doctor or a nurse, but I’m fortunate to have an incredible medical team that’s helped me get comfortable with managing my medication and this disease. Please note, that this isn’t medical advice—it’s just my personal experience.
And on a lighter note, how about a dance party? Because why not make the hard stuff a little fun?
